"One Hundred SpongeBobs"


Throughout 2018, one hundred Bobs were slowly born to rising fanfare, eventually culminating in a gallery show at The Ottobar. What started as a goof with some quick doodles eventually escalated out of my control into a deep committed exploration of how far you can push the boundaries of a single ubiquitous character design. As time went on, the Bobs grew beyond their original character. Bob took over my life completely. Bobs appeared to me in dreams. Bobs were projected expressions of my personal emotions. Bobs were representations of friends and their art styles. Bobs were based on weird bootleg keychains. The arc of Bobs reflects the arc of PK. Bob became a vessel for me to speak through I became a vessel for Bob to speak through.

All 100 original Bobs have been preserved and presented here as one complete collection, in mostly chronological order from first to last. Some have been consolidated. Which one is your favorite!!?
